"When you give me an assignment, you can be sure that I will sink my teeth into it!"
Kim van Bemmel, graphic designer
WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE!
Let me introduce myself.
My name is Kim van Bemmel. Graphic designer, founder of Papiermonsters and a 1998 graduate of Willem de Kooning Academy (WDKA) in 1998.

Less is more
After a several years of working for a weekly magazine (Elsevier), an advertising agency and a design studio, I've been working as a freelancer since 2006. The name Papiermonsters was born in 2009. A name who perfectly reflects on who I am and how I like to live: light, airy and humorous. The quote that best fits me in design is 'Less is More', because simplicity and restraint often have a more powerful impact than excessive embellishments or complexity.

I offer my graphic design expertise for commissioned work. Logos, posters, brochures, flyers, packaging, invitations, book covers, and article illustrations. Anything that can be printed, embossed, or placed digitally is within the realm of possibility for collaboration or commission.
Help is on the way
In 2023, driven by the need to provide peace and clarity in my son's (then a first-year) schoolwork and mind, I developed a weekly planner. After months of tweaking and improving it, the idea arose to make it available to other children as well, to help them experience more peace and clarity. Since then, more planning products have been added, and I'm open to receiving requests for new products to design and add to the range. "Help is on the way" is a fitting slogan for this new branch of Papiermonsters.

Besides the above, I enjoy designing what makes me happy. Paper goods, textiles, and wood are my three passions. I also enjoy playing with language, examples of which you often find in posters, cards, coasters, bags, and clothing. Take a look in the webshop.
